Qualifications

Arash is an award-winning hydrogen researcher with 9+ years of international R&D expertise in the fields of alternative fuels, energy conversion, and composite materials. Notably, he developed the world's most compact ammonia cracker. He holds over 30 peer-reviewed publications, and 5 patents on hydrogen/ammonia technologies (incl. the proprietary technology at Amogy). Arash is also a Chartered Engineer (CEng) and is an alumnus of the Entrepreneur Business School sponsored by Converge.

Arash is the CEO designate and co-founder of a prospective spin-out, Entropyst, with a focus on the production of ammonia and turquoise hydrogen. Moreover, he is the founder and acting guest editor of a Special Issue on ‘Unconventional Hydrogen Applications and Systems’ in Energies (MDPI).

In his previous role as a Hydrogen Specialist at PNDC, Arash spearheaded the development of an extensive research and Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) project portfolio on hydrogen as an energy vector. His postdoctoral tenure was at the Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST)—the first government-funded research institute in the Republic of Korea—further solidifying his credentials. After earning his BEng in Mechanical Engineering in Iran, he relocated to the Republic of Korea in 2015 to pursue his MEng and PhD in Mechanical Design Engineering, completing his doctorate at the age of 29. Throughout his academic and professional journey, Arash has been integral to several key laboratories, including the Ammonia Research Group (ARG), Hydrogen Research Lab (HRL), Multifunctional Carbon Materials Lab (MCM), and the Energy and Materials Circulation System Lab (EMCSL), collaborating on projects sponsored by globally recognised corporations such as Hyundai Motor Group.

In addition to his professional pursuits, he fervently advocates for human rights and endeavours to raise awareness about the 'Woman-Life-Freedom' revolution. As the first female-led revolution movement in history, Arash recognises the imperative of drawing global attention to it to mitigate further atrocities perpetrated against women, particularly in Iran and Afghanistan.
